Southern California, United States

I’ve been skating for seven years.

I was born in the Philippines but now I call Southern California home. I was introduced to longboarding out of interest with learning basic skateboarding. From there, my love for skateboarding grew and I started racing downhill.

The longboard downhill scene was hot and there were many exciting races, great locations, and amazing people in the skate community. The opportunities came left and right, I was fortunate to be an ambassador for my sponsor companies, a member of the Longboard Girls crew, International Downhill Federation(IDF), and a business partner at the Grind Skate Shop.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a board and why?

Coleman Slides (heelside slide) is my favorite along with primos, footwork and 360s. It was the first thing I learned on my longboard and always came in handy at any given skate session and races.

On being sponsored

My sponsors are Riviera Skateboards, Abec11 Wheels, Attack Trucks, Holesom Pucks, Bates Leathers, Venom Bushings, Beyondbeanie, Smith Safety Gear, Teamkillsauce, Draven Footwear, Rockstar Bearings, and Grind Skate Shop.

I’m highly active in the skate community and industry. My experiences included representing/marketing my sponsors at events, organizing events, managing team riders, non profit organizations, skate lessons, compete both in local and international downhill races, and running a skate shop.

Perks of being sponsored

My sponsors have been very supportive of me pursuing a career in skateboarding and they continue to encourage endlessly.

Everyday board and setup

I ride my Riviera Heta drop thru longboard with Abec 11 Flywheels and 180 Attack RKP trucks, and built in Rockstar Bearings.

For my skate park board, my favorite set up is Riviera Rope Burn Longboard with 60mm Sublime Snotshot wheels, and 152mm Attack Conflict Series Standard Kingpin trucks, and Rockstar bearings.

Favorite nourishment after a session

Water bottle and steak chalupa from Taco Bell.

Someone in longboarding or skateboarding you look up to

My favorite longboarder was Brad Edwards, he passed away recently but his style and skating everything inspires me. Zak Maytum ( Venom Bushings) is the fastest speed boarder that I would like to skate with. My skateboard favorites are: Natas Kaupas, Christian Hosoi, and Jeff Kendall.

If given a chance to meet this person what would you talk about?

I would talk about how much I was inspired by them and the way they skated with such style. I want to get to know them better.

What are your struggles right now?

Overextended shoulder, sprained ankle, staying fit and mental health.

One piece of advice

Don’t settle for less, and make that a habit. Skate everyday. Live up to your full potential.

A personal quote that keeps you motivated

Think it, Feel it, Do it – PVZ

Suggested Music, brief description or Why?

The White Stripes- Seven Nation Army because they are clever and I love the beat and rhythm. Anything that gets you to skate. Its self explanatory.

Do you celebrate go skateboarding day? Why or why not?

Yes I do, everyday because it makes me happy.

I want to thank all of my sponsors for all of their support

Riviera Skateboards, Abec11 Wheels, Attack trucks, Holesom Pucks, Bates Leathers, Venom Bushings, Beyondbeanie, Smith Safety Gear, Teamkillsauce, Draven Footwear, Rockstar Bearings, and Grind Skate Shop.

I love being a part of the skate community and – To all of the skaters and non skaters out there, I hope to skate with you someday. Francesca Rosario
