Since 2012, I always had the custom to visit the park near my home, Ibirapuera park, and there is a spot called Marquise of Ibirapuera where all riders do train, and after my birthday in 2012 my mom bought me a longboard and then I started to ride there.
What’s your favorite trick or thing to do on a board and why?
Aeroflip for sure, is like the trick that defines me, my style and my love for longboarding.
How did longboarding change you as a person?
Before longboarding, I was a really closed person, with so much difficult to make new friends, and after I begin training I started discovering more about myself and making new friends.
Do you currently have a sponsor? How did that happen?
Today I’m sponsored by Flowing Boards, Orangatang Wheels, Paris Truck Co and Upon Board Store, all of those sponsors was consequence of hard training and love for what i do.
What are the benefits or perks of being sponsored?
Well longboards is not so cheap to keep buying all the time, here in Brazil you have to save a lot of money if you want to keep longboarding for years or get some skills… then it’s really helpful when you get sponsored by your dream brands.
Do you have an everyday board, the board that you always ride with?
Yes, I have my Blue Lotus of Flowing with Skiffs of Orangatang and Savants of Paris Truck
Describe your setup
- Lotus- Flowing Boards
- Orange/Yellow Skiffs of Orangatang
- Eletroluxe Savants of Paris Truck Co
Do you have a (Pack, Crew, Longboard Org, or friends you skate with regularly)? Do you guys have a name? How did you join?
Yes its called Los Boards, its a crew of Ibirapuera Park, I joined when I started training in that spot 6 years ago.
Any advice for anyone who wants to start a team, group or community?
Make it for fun not for money or fame.
Who inspires you (longboarder or skateboarder) that makes you want to push your progression! Why?
To begin Lotfi Lammali also Achel Machin and me haha we have to be our inspirations for sure haha.
How did this person affect the way you longboard?
When i was lost trying to find my style, I saw some videos of longboard freestyle dancing and boom Lotfi appears with those crazy hand tricks and the AEROFLIP and in that moment I discovered how I would be after sometime of training.
And some years ago I was really confused and thinking about stopping longboarding because of some personal problems and I started to see this guy called Achel Machin and then I realized again why I’m doing longboard and I’m really thankful to him.
Describe briefly what do you do outside longboarding?
I’m doing engineer university here in São Paulo, I work with longboard so… my life is basically longboard, girlfriend, study.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I hate contests… I think that its terrible for a FREESTYLE… but well, I don’t create the rules.
What are your struggles right now?
Keep longboarding even when the scene isn’t like 2014 anymore.
